“In our lives, our eyes perceive the world as a million different images, with multiple sights within each image. In my painting, I usually strive to reverse that view. I try to eliminate or simplify the background ‘noise’ so that my subject pops out of the surface. Sometimes, I use black and white paint to intensify that goal. ‘Simple and bold’ is a phrase that guides my creation… most of the time.”

Retired from the Nashville Fire Department in 2006 after a 28 year stint as a Firefighter/EMT in the companies. He lives with his wife Connie in their home near White House, TN.
